MJ’s appreciation of the outdoors began as very young child on family camping trips, and she fell in love with summer camp as a 10-year-old. In fact she credits that experience with launching her life’s work in camping and outdoor education. MJ received her degree in Recreation from Springfield College focusing on camp administration, environmental education, and youth development, and has worked in her field since she graduated! From the age of 25, MJ has directed a variety of camps and outdoor education programs including Girl Scout camps, Boston University’s Sargent Center, Aloha Camp, and Fleur de Lis Camp. As an active volunteer with the American Camp Association of New England and NH Camps Association, MJ has delighted in sharing her knowledge and experience, as well as continuing her own growth and development as a camp and outdoor education professional.
MJ passionately believes in the power of community connection and learning experientially. She loves working with young adults and children and helping people grow in their appreciation, knowledge and commitment to creating a better world for themselves, others, and the environment. MJ is excited to be part of the Glen Brook team that is dedicated and passionate about their work.
In her free time, the outdoors is MJ’s favorite place to be whether it’s gardening or skiing, hiking in the woods, paddling on lakes, or boogie boarding in the ocean.
